Raising for Reach

An afternoon of vulnerability, community and generosity.

By Emily Woods

What started as a heartfelt conversation between Alison Wright and David Cowen on the final day of 2024 became something truly special—Raising for Reach.

Born from a shared belief in the power of community, passion for mental health and a mission to support the youth of tomorrow, we knew that this year we wanted to extend our support to the Reach Foundation.

The Reach Foundation is built on a simple yet profound mission: to help young people uncover their potential. Through transformational workshops and programs, Reach creates spaces where young Australians can connect, express themselves, and grow. Founded by Jim Stynes and Paul Currie in 1994, Reach has positively influenced countless lives, equipping the next generation with the tools they need to thrive. Each year, Reach works with over 40,000 young Australians, delivering workshops in schools, communities, and workplaces. Their peer-led model ensures that facilitators, many of whom have been through the program themselves, create an environment of trust, authenticity, and shared experience. Backed by extensive research, Reach’s programs have been shown to improve self-awareness, emotional intelligence, and interpersonal skills, making a lasting impact on participants’ personal and professional journeys.

Our partnership is a testament to our commitment to fostering meaningful impact, and this year’s event was a shining example of what can be achieved when people come together for a greater purpose.

Raising for Reach event was an extraordinary celebration of community and generosity. As we looked around the room, we felt immense pride in how every individual bought their own level of vulnerability, inspiration, and meaningful conversation, all in support of their incredible work empowering young Australians.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to those who made it possible:

Jana Christodoulou & Josh Robinson for their thought-provoking workshop on reflection,
Izzy for her authentic and moving storytelling, and Josh Piterman for an unforgettable performance.
Vetro Design for donating their time and stunning designs,
Dream Engine & Ryan Spanger for donating their time and beautifully capturing the essence of the day with the video below, and Emily Woods & Paul Duboc for curating an exceptional experience. Each contribution played a crucial role in making the event truly special.

This was more than just a fundraiser—it was a powerful reminder of what can happen when purpose-driven individuals unite.

To everyone who attended, contributed, and believed in this vision, thank you.

Your generosity and support will leave a lasting impact on the young people of Reach, shaping lives for years to come.
